Peregrine Besset: Perfect Collection

All five Issues collected together in one edition with fifteen pages of new story art and full colour rendering throughout. This will be the story told the way the creator would have intended -if he'd had the brains to do it that way to begin with!

The story will have a slightly higher erotic content and some minor structural tweaks to fix factual errors and pull it into line with the new movie continuity, which has been more carefully thought out!

For those of you who detest the revisionism that people such as Mr. Lucas visit on their creations, rest assured that the original black and white versions with the all the clunky mistakes will continue to be available. -And if you're lucky enough to posess some of the original hand printed versions, think how collectable they will become!

UPCOMING PEREGRINE BESSET STORIES

To date there are seven published issues of Peregrine Besset. As existing readers already know, Besset's storyline is being told in a non-chronological order. Completed adventures, already available for download are highlighted in lighter blue. "Sand. Time and the Stars" is the origin story and takes Besset from Ancient Egypt to the 22nd. century world of the Makara and then into the Red World.

The following adventures have been plotted, but not yet produced. They include Besset's exploration of the Red World, the coming of the Intruders and her capture and bondage by these fierce invaders. She then becomes a minor character in Slaa's saga, which details the Red World War and it's eventual bloody resolution. During this period Besset has her own side story concerning her expulsion from the city of Isshutar, her journey to Teremutesh and the bitter siege of Samara. She returns to Isshutar to take part in the final battle with the Intruders as they invade the city.Afterwards there is the post-war trilogy "Red World Blues". Although "Red World Holiday" was written first, it's actually Part 3 of the trilogy!

After this is an unspecified period that includes further adventures with Slaa beyond the edges of the Red World, tying in with Ruby's Red World Notebooks. Besset then finds herself back in the 22nd. century Makara world at the conclusion of the Intercessor War. While she has been gone, Yakka and Cass live through the "Makara Rebels" storyline. Following on from this is "Recombination / Reconcilliation"then "Warrigul goes Home" the working title for a comedy cross-over adventure with Louise Graber's "Black Light Angels".

Work is well advanced on the BlackLight Angels cross-over and "Red World Justice" -Part 1 of the "Red World Blues" trilogy. Part 2, "Red World Mystery" is also in planning with Marilyn providing the artwork.

In addition, there are plans for "Peregrine Besset STRIPS" a web-based strip format series, only available on this site. The first story told will start with Besset's expulsion from Isshutar.

PEREGRINE BESSET THE MOVIE

In 2000 a Perth based group enquired about optioning "Sand, Time and the Stars" for development as a film property. Sadly this venture did not proceed, but the concept already existed as a spec script written by L P Morley which had drawn some interest from a producer he had worked with on "Red Planet".This script has gone through several drafts as the story has been trimmed to allow it to be filmed as a low-budget Australian independent production. Currently it stands as a prequel to the published stories and Besset's character has been dropped from the story altogether!

The story centres around the early years of Makara matriarch, Naluk McGorran and her clashes with the Interstellar Group as it attempts to evacuate planet Earth ahead of an ecological catastrophe. If this smaller story is sucessful, then we might see a time-travelling Ancient Egyptian dwarf on the silver screen...

However, given the long gestation times for film projects, your best chance of seeing Besset's adventures is right here at www.redworldstories.com...

CURRENT STATUS: Draft 14 of the script delivered October 2005. More revisions pending, together with appointment of a Script Editor and Director. Once these concerns are resolved, a preliminary budget can be formulated and investors sought.
